RELINQUISHING A PARROT - FROM PARAKEETS to MACAWS
Who we serve |
If your parrot needs a new home, please fill out the questionnaire below and e-mail it to us along with a current photograph of your bird to: contact@phoenixlanding.org or mail it to: PO Box 459, Alexander, NC 28701. We serve the areas of Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and NE Florida/Jacksonville.
We try to find homes just as quickly as possible; however, we are volunteer based so we may not be able to help immediately. It may take a few weeks before we can coordinate and arrange for a new home or foster home. Unfortunately, due to the large number of male cockatoos (especially sulphur crested) already in our adoption program and on our wait list, the wait may be much more substantial for them. Male cockatoos are the birds we receive relinquishment forms for most often, and are among the hardest to place due to their complex behavior and enrichment needs. So, we recommend contacting more than one organization for them to see who may be able to help first. |
What we need to get started |
Since we are assuming responsibility for your parrot, here are the things we would like to know. Please fill out this form and return to us by mail or e-mail. (Please do not send jpgs of the form itself.)
When your bird enters our system, we appreciate having any available records like hatch certificate, DNA, veterinary records. Mail to PO Box 459, Alexander NC 28701. |
