Surrender or Relinquish a Parrot to Phoenix Landing
From Budgies to Macaws

Who we serve

Picture
If your parrot needs a new home, please fill out the form below. This is what we need to get started.

As homes are available, we serve Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, North Carolina, and NE Florida. Upon occasion we can help birds outside of these areas, but it will depend on the species and available homes. We try to find placements as quickly as possible; but this also depends on the species and available approved homes. It usually takes weeks to months, and upon occasion, even years. We are a volunteer-based organization so please be patient while we try to coordinate and arrange for a good new home.

Unfortunately, due to the large number of male cockatoos already in our adoption program and on our wait list, the wait for a new home for them may take much more time. Male cockatoos are among the hardest to place due to their complex behavior and enrichment needs that few people are willing to appreciate and understand. So, we recommend contacting more than one organization to see who may be able to help first.

Relinquishment Questionnaire (Google Form or Excel): what we need to get started

Since we are assuming responsibility for your parrot, and hope to find a home that is a good match for them, we ask you to complete our parrot questionnaire to the best of your ability.

When your bird enters our system, we appreciate having any available records like hatch certificate, DNA, veterinary records. Please mail these important documents directly to: Phoenix Landing Foundation, PO Box 459, Alexander NC 28701.  And of course donations always appreciated to help with our veterinary costs!

VERY IMPORTANT: Before you fill out this form
Please measure the bird's cage, especially the WIDTH.
