2016 WELLNESS RETREAT

"The Nature of Parrots"

30 April - 1 May, 2016

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM both days
The Sherrill Center, UNC-Asheville
227 Campus Drive, Asheville 28804
A remarkable array of veterinarians, scientists and teachers will join us for another exceptional learning event.
Our 3rd Wellness Retreat will focus on what it means to be a parrot, naturally.

There will be numerous sessions about topics such as heart health; toxins; sexual maturity; laser therapy; The Grey Parrot Project; enrichment and toy-making;
integrative medicine such as herbal and homeopathic remedies; older parrots; anatomy; family life; flight; emergencies; social life; mental health; radiology; reproductive issues;
nutrition; training; and a special visit from Einstein the African Grey!  With four simultaneous ongoing tracks, there will always be something to suit everyone's interests - from fun toy-making to understanding parrot kidneys.

Understanding the true nature of parrots makes it easier to work with our veterinarians to protect the well-being of our birds.  It also gives us more information about how to give our parrots the opportunity to live the long and healthy lives they deserve.  We truly hope you can join us for another extraordinary Wellness Retreat!

Great thanks to
 Retreat sponsors - the Raleigh Durham Caged Bird Society, The Lafeber Company and Richard Rossi!  Email us at phoenixlanding@earthlink.net if you would like to be a sponsor as well.
