The following items or services
are needed on a regular basis. Tax
deductible receipts provided in accordance the value of the items
donated. Your
help gratefully appreciated!
- Sponsor
the location for one of our events in the Wash DC, Charlotte,
or Raleigh areas. Perhaps
you know a church, school, restaurant or other location that
has space for 100 or more people;
- Storage space or transport for donated cages;
-
- Frequent flyer miles for
our 2008 out-of-town speakers;
- Order your bird supplies and
cages thru us. We give good value so you can spend more money
on your parrot, and your support also helps care for the parrots
of Phoenix Landing;

Farm equipment
or building materials for the "Landing" (tile,
hardy plank, cinder block, etc);
- Special artistic works (paintings,
sculptures, jewelry, pottery, etc). We will soon feature artists
on our web site and would welcome a donation of your special
craft;
- Parrot-related auction
items;
- Full
spectrum light bulbs and fixtures, especially OTT;
- Sturdy
cages in good condition;
- New or good used toys, perches & bowls for
birds of all sizes;
- Preferred pellets such as:
Totally Organic Pellets (www.totallyorganics.com) or Harrisons;
- Hookbill
seed mix from Roses Pet Emporium at www.rosespet.com;
- Brochure and postcard paper, stamps, Avery labels 8167;
- Printing support for a
banner, brochures, business cards, signs;
- Help us at events to set up and clean up, welcome new people
at the door, carry in/out boxes; and

Phoenix Landing is an all-volunteer organization.
We can only thrive with the help of many dedicated and kind-hearted
people. The more that we work together, the greater help
we are able to provide for the parrots. Please join
us.

ADOPTION
Phoenix
Landing sponsors an adoption & education program in the
greater Washington DC area as well as Maryland, Virginia, North
Carolina and some other surrounding areas. Resource
support and personal assistance are always welcome! We
always need help with picking up or storing donated cages. Or
maybe you would like to pick up a bird and take them to
the vet or their foster home. Let us know, and come to our events
where you can meet many exceptional volunteers!
EDUCATION and OUTREACH
Phoenix Landing sponsors an robust educational program to improve
the lives of parrots in captivity and the wild. Phoenix
Landing also seeks opportunities to educate the public in general
about the nature of parrots and the commitment required when
bringing a parrot into your family. Volunteer to help
us with these educational functions--setting up and hosting booths,
selling toys and parrot items, or talking with the public at pet
stores or other various locations. |
THE "LANDING"
We plan to build large indoor & outdoor
free-flight structures near Asheville, NC for long-lived parrots
that come to us for a permanent home. Assistance
with supplies and services gratefully appreciated.
